It was 1914, and a man named George Washington Carver was faced with a highly volatile dilemma.😰

As an agricultural scientist, he had advised the farmers in Georgia, USA to plant peanuts in their nutition-depleted fields instead of cotton – a system now known as “crop-rotation”. 🥜

The problem was, peanuts had no commercial value at the time, and without a market for their crops, the farmers were faced with bankruptcy. 💸

But Carver knew where to go for the answer. Since he was a boy, he had maintained a deep and disciplined prayer life with the Holy Spirit. 🙏🏼

Carver said;

“All my life I have regularly risen at 4 in the morning to go into the woods and talk with God. That’s where He reveals His secrets to me…and this morning I asked Him why He made the peanut.”🥜

Within 10 days Carver had “discovered” more than 300 uses for the peanut including soap, paper, candy, and cooking oil – completely revolutionising the agricultural industry – all because he spent time communicating with, and knew how to be led by, the Holy Spirit. 🕊

Carver later said:

“I am not special; the Lord provides everyone with life-changing ideas. These ideas are quite literally a treasure from the Almighty. It is up to each of us however, to choose to dig for the treasure.” 🙏🏼

The solution to that problem, that business idea, the wisdom for our relationships, finances, ministry, health, job and even everyday decisions is readily available to us, but we have to:

1. Ask God for the answer
2. Pray in tongues (because the Spirit, through you, is praying out those mysteries and secret things! 1 Corinthians 14:2)
3. Purposefully set aside time to get quiet and hear from God

God promises that the Holy Spirit WILL reveal the answers to us! (John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 2:9)💡

That’s Good News! 🙌🏼 #faithtalks
