This is a photo of our cat, Stanley. 🐈
Stanley is staring at a nest full of baby birds on a tree branch directly above his head, patiently hoping that one of those baby birds tumbles out of the nest and into his waiting jaws. 😼
But as long as those tiny birds stay tucked away in that safe place, secure under the wings of their parent, Stanley won’t be able to touch them, and he’ll have to go find something else to devour. 😿
God tells us in Psalm 91 that there is a place prepared for us – a safe, secure, secret place…
🤍 A place of refuge where we will never have to fear the terror that comes by night or the destruction that lays waste by day.
🤍 A shelter in which a thousand may fall at our side and ten thousand at our right hand, but it won’t be able to come near us.
🤍 A shadowy hiding place where no evil will befall us and no plague can come near us.
🤍 A place of total safety that is out of reach of the Devourer.
And verse 9 of Psalm 91 tells us HOW we inhabit this secret place – by making the Lord (the Word) our dwelling.🏡
By making the Word (and no other “word”) the place where we find our security, safety and peace. 📖
And most importantly, by SAYING what the Word (the Lord) says about us…
🗣️ No weapon formed against me shall prosper! (Is 54:17)
🗣️ No evil befalls me and no plague comes near me! (Ps 91:10)
🗣️ The Lord sent his Word and healed me and I am delivered from destruction! (Ps 107:20)
🗣️ I will fear no evil for the Lord is with me! (Ps 23:4)
🗣️ He is my refuge and fortress and in Him I trust! (Ps 91:2)
The Devourer can sit and stare and wait and hope as long as he wants…but he CANNOT TOUCH the ones who continuously dwell in the secret place of the Most High! (1 Pet 5:8, Ps 91) 🥰 #faithtalks
