If you could ask God for more of just one thing, what would you ask Him for? šŸ¤”

Most people would ask Him for more faith. Or more of His power. Or more of His presence. Or more of the Holy Spirit. Or perhaps more wisdom, patience or self-control. šŸ™šŸ¼

But according to God’s Word, there’s only ONE THING we need more of… šŸ¤²šŸ¼

2 Peter 1:3 says, ā€œHis divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us by His glory and goodness.ā€

This is a monumental statement! 🤯

God has already (past tense) given us EVERYTHING we need for both life (zoe – physical and spiritual life) AND godliness (our response to the things of God)[Strong’s]! āœ…

God literally can’t give us more than He already has!

He sent the Holy Spirit to earth on the day of Pentecost, and He promised to NEVER leave us or forsake us – so we already have more than enough of His Spirit AND His presence… (Acts 2, Jn 14:16, Matt 28:20) šŸ•ŠšŸ”„

If we’re born again, this same Holy Spirit (which is His power) is now living inside of us – so we already have more than enough of His power… (Rom 6:10-11)šŸ’„

This same Holy Spirit enables and empowers us to display the FRUIT of the Spirit – so we already have more than enough love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faith, goodness and self-control… (Gal 5:22) šŸ˜‡

God has already given every person the measure of faith (in fact, it’s the SAME FAITH that Jesus has!) – so we already have more than enough faith… (Rom 12:3, Gal 2:20 KJV) šŸ™šŸ¼

God has already given us everything He can possibly give us! āœ…

But notice 2 Peter 1:3 goes on to tell us HOW we lay hold of and walk in all of these things: ā€œthrough the KNOWLEDGE of Him who has called us by His glory and goodness.ā€šŸ’”

Hosea 4:6 tells us that the ONLY reason God’s people perish (suffer and experience destruction) is because of lack of KNOWLEDGE.ā“

So…the ONLY thing we need more of is more KNOWLEDGE.šŸ’”ā€¼ļø

This is why, when Paul prayed for the churches, he didn’t pray that they would have more faith, more demonstration of God’s power, more of God’s presence, more of an outpouring of the Spirit, or more miracles and healings, he prayed, ā€œā€¦that the eyes of your UNDERSTANDING be opened…that you may be filled with the KNOWLEDGE of His willā€¦ā€ (Eph 1:17, Phil 1:9, Eph 5:17)šŸ’”

Because the result of an increase in KNOWLEDGE would be…

ā€œā€¦that you would KNOW the hope of His calling, the glorious riches of the inheritance (blessings) that He has (already!) given us, and the exceeding greatness of His power ā€¦ā€ā€¼ļø

ā€œā€¦that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, fruitful in every good work, strengthened with His might and power, demonstrating patience and self-controlā€¦ā€ (Col 1:10-11)ā€¼ļø

God isn’t withholding ANYTHING from us! ā¤ļø

But the key to walking in the fullness of God’s power, presence, blessings, and grace, is first studying His Word to FIND OUT who we are in Christ and what He’s already given us in His great and precious promises, and then ACTING ON that knowledge. (2 Pet 1:4, Js 1:22-25) ā€¼ļø=šŸ’ŖšŸ¼

This is one of the best prayers we can pray every day;

ā€œLord, thank you that I have the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you, that the eyes of my understanding are opened and I am filled with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and understanding. Thank you that I KNOW the hope of your calling for me, I KNOW what the riches of my glorious inheritance are, and I KNOW the exceeding greatness of your power toward me, in Jesus’ name.ā€

And just watch – you’ll start increasing in intimate and unshakable knowledge of just how much God loves you and everything He’s given you by His grace! šŸ’”= 🄰 #faithtalksĀ
