It was 1940. Great Britain was on the brink of invasion by the German forces, and the British people were terrified.😰
The enemy had been successful in occupying most of Europe, and had their sights set on the United Kingdom as the last European power to conquer. 🏴☠️
But then a man named Winston Churchill became Prime Minister. 🎩
As soon as he took office, Churchill’s primary focus became to change the ATTITUDE of the British people from one of defeat to one of victory. 🇬🇧
In his inaugural address, Churchill boldly declared, “Victory at all costs! Victory in spite of all terror! Victory however long and hard the road may be!”✌🏼
He personally toured the city of London while air raid alarms sounded and bombs fell. 💣🔥
He rallied the country with defiant speeches such as, “We will fight on the beaches, on the streets, in the hills…we will NEVER surrender, we will NEVER give up!” and wherever he went he threw up the “victory” sign. ✌🏼
Churchill became known as the British Bulldog for his fierce determination to never give up the fight.
And in spite of relentless criticism from his political opponents, Churchill lifted the nation’s morale by showing the people by example that they didn’t have to be afraid of the enemy.💪🏼
And finally, in May 1945, the German forces surrendered and that victory became reality. 🇬🇧
We may currently be in the fight of faith for something in our lives, and the way we “see” ourselves is crucial to the outcome.
Victory over the enemy is already ours – our healing, protection, provision, and peace has already been paid for by the blood of Jesus. (2 Pet 1:3, Heb 10:14) ✝️
But we have to see ourselves, not as the defeated fighting FOR victory, but as the victorious enforcing the enemy’s defeat.✌🏼(Rom 8:37, Eph 2:6)
We must not allow ourselves to be moved by what we see, hear, or feel, but instead we defiantly answer every contradiction or challenge to what is ours with, “It is written…!” (2 Cor 4:18, Eph 6:17)
If we refuse to back down, refuse to give up, and refuse to concede defeat, the enemy HAS TO to surrender! (Js 4:7) 🏳
Victory isn’t a formula, it’s an attitude!✌🏼#faithtalks
