In 1982 a young man was working on his car when the jack slipped and the car fell on top of him, pinning him to the ground and knocking him unconscious. 😴
.
His mother, not knowing what else to do, immediately began praying in tongues. 🙏🏼
.
A supernatural strength came on her and she was able to lift the car off her son for long enough for neighbours to drag him out. 🚘
.
The young man was taken to hospital but miraculously, no injuries were found! 🙌🏼
.
Acts 1:8 tells us that we receive POWER when the Holy Spirit comes on us. 💪🏼
.
“Power” is the Greek word “dunamis”, which means “force, might, and the ability to get results”.💥
.
It’s the same root word for the word DYNAMITE! 🧨
.
In the Old Testament the Holy Spirit would COME UPON people like Samson, which enabled him to pull the gates off a city, or Elijah, who outran Ahab’s chariot. (Judges 16, 1 Kings 18)💥
.
But now, we we can be filled with the Spirit and have the Holy Spirit living IN US! 🕊
.
This dunamis POWER is now permanently available to us, and the way we tap into that power is by praying in the language of the spirit – or praying in tongues! 🗣
.
You may ask, “What can I do with this power?” 🤔
.
You may not need to outrun a chariot or pull gates off a city, but, like this car-lifting mother, when you pray in tongues the Holy Spirit will empower you to get whatever results the situation requires! 🙌🏼💪🏼 #faithtalks
